She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Graphic Design) from Monash University and has been painting in oils for the last 10 years.

 

Drawing inspiration from the Mornington Peninsula where she is a frequent visitor, Kate’s painting practice explores the coastal landscape and man-made interventions, whilst her more domestic work examines the intimacy of still life painting and the beauty of domestic everyday objects.

 

Kate also paints urban views including a series recently of her local park, Edinburgh Gardens. Her paintings are small intimate landscapes that are engaging with a focus on light, reflections and the surrounding vegetation. Kate uses a limited palette and conveys a sense of peaceful calm and stillness within the landscape.
